Job vacancies

Care at Home are part of Bromley Healthcare, a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering health and care services in the community across Bromley, Bexley, Lewisham and Greenwich. We value our staff and are constantly looking to improve opportunities for them as well as their health and wellbeing.

We are currently recruiting care professionals in the boroughs of Bexley and Bromley. Whether you’re looking to start your career in care, progress your current career, gain new skills and qualifications, or you’re looking for something that offers flexibility, Care at Home could be the place for you.

Care Professionals

The core of our work here at Care at Home is home care (or domiciliary care as it is sometimes known), reablement and companionship. The majority of our adverts are for Care Professionals, some organisations refer to these as Carers or Care Assistants, the responsibilities our care professionals take on could include:

  • Companionship; you will be a friendly face for your customer to share conversation and enjoy spending time with
  • Mobility support; some customers need assistance getting up and moving around their home
  • Overseeing medication; all in accordance with the customer’s support plan
  • Household chores; helping out around the home, such as vacuuming or washing clothes
  • Running errands; picking up groceries or prescriptions
  • Personal care; some customers need support with bathing, dressing and continence care

Field Care Supervisors

This is a more senior role within the team supporting the delivery of high-quality care services by carrying out a range of functions in the field. These include the assessment and review of individual services and the practical supervision, instruction and support of care workers. Due to the field-based elements of the role you must be a driver and be prepared to also work on an on-call rota basis.

Field care supervisors are expected to spend the majority of their working time in the community carrying out their primary functions, but their role will typically also entail a certain amount of office-based administrative work.

For some people, the prospect of providing care is daunting and they expect to be required to have care experience and training before applying. At Care at Home, we provide all new starters with full training and support before they are required to deliver care independently.

Our training is delivered in house by Bromley Healthcare and is of the highest standard and linked to our health services we provide to the NHS.

Beyond this, we have many opportunities for team members in a care role to move into other areas of the organisation. For those interested in careers in nursing, there is the opportunity to train as an apprentice Nursing Associate and then later, undertake an 18 month top up to become a Registered Nurse. We may also be able to offer a four-year Registered Nurse apprenticeship to those who already meet university entrance requirements and we are looking to offer degree apprenticeships for some Allied Health Professions too.

Prepare to Care Training Programme - in partnership with London South East Colleges

The aim is to help create a local workforce that can deliver professional, personal, quality care to the local community in the comfort of their own home.
